Perussuomalaiset ovat vaatineet eduskunnassa tällä vaalikaudella sekä tyttöjen sukuelinten silpomisen pikaista kriminalisointia ja samoin poikien ympärileikkauksen kriminalisointia. Asia ei ole edennyt hallituksen esitykseksi. Lasten fyysinen koskemattomuus ja lasten oikeudet menee uskonnon harjoittamisen edelle . Kyse on ympärileikkausta osalta vauvasta ja ei-lääketieteellisiä turhia leikkauksia ei tule sallia uskonnon tai kulttuurin nimissä.
